What type of sentence should i get for possesion of cds 15 xanax found in my center console?

i was pulled over for avoiding a traffic signal (going through a store parking lot). I gave the officer my license,registration,and insurance card. My insurance card was expired only by a few days. So he asked if i had a valid one and me knowing i didn'tt have it on me it was home i opened the center console where he observed the top of the white cap of the prescription bottle at which time he said turn off the vehicle and place my hands on the steering wheel. He then told me to get out of the vehicle and sit on the curb at which time they proceded to search the vehicle. They found 15 xanax in a prescription bottle with no label. Then they called in the K-9 and let the dog run through my car. Well i got my discovery and of course the cop dont tell the truth he states he observed a prescription bottle with no label in the console. So is there a illegal search at all. Never asked permission to search. They are offering me a 3 year prison term which i would be eligible for parole in 12 months or a 6 month in patient drug program. Do you think thats a little much for 15 pills?
