Am I able to renew registration for a car that is not mine in Texas?

I am trying to renew the registration for my boyfriend's car however the car is not in my name nor is the insurance that is on the car. Am I still able to get the car's registration renewed if I bring the title and proof of his insurance to my local tax office?
