What registration fees does California charge for a vehicle purchased out-of-state?

Looking at buying a used van from a private party across the border in Las Vegas. The van is worth about $3k- but I have no idea what kind of fees are involved with getting new plates and getting it registered here in CA. Anybody know or been through this? Thanks so much
