According to Hinduism (Sanatan Dharma), how can I please God?

Pray to God with all your soul infused heart directly at home or in some secluded spot and not in temples which they do not do anyway and we say that God is outside of religion and yet God is everywhere.Do you see Sanat Kumara as God?
